Like any unit construction bike, transmission bearing replacement can, but need not be, a royal pain in the ass. If you have the service manual, FOLLOW IT. If you don't, GO BUY IT. The procedure is fairly easy to follow. Just make sure everything is spotless when you bolt it back together. Replace your drive system external components at the same time, as worn out, out of balance, or otherwise torn up pieces will dramatically accelerate internal bearing destruction.
